Wu-Tang explains why the Drake remix never happened

Oh yeah, why didn’t that “Wu-Tang Forever (Remix)” ever happen? Drake was supposed to have Wu-Tang as the natural fit and there were even confirmations of verses done for the song… perhaps even a video shot in Toronto. Yet, we haven’t heard it and from the sounds of it, looks like we never will. I should preface this by saying that there is no bad blood between Drake & Wu-Tang as indicated in the full MTV interview above. But here’s why:

“I guess we kind of came too hard for him. He wanted us to talk about broads, but at that time, we wasn’t in a broad mode. We had to write it real fast. No lie, I probably had about six hours to write this thing. At the time, I wasn’t feeling woman-y—I was feeling hard as nails. So, I wrote him a hard as nail rhyme, and he was talking about something totally different, so the subject matter didn’t really mesh.”

Adds Ghostface:

I like Drake, though. I like him because he’s pays homage. But at the end of the day, he knows how to rhyme. He’s not weak.

Dah well. It still would’ve been dope, but at the same time, you can’t force things. Artistic integrity won out and that’s fine by me. Given that there’s no beef or anything, perhaps they’ll collab on somethin’ fresh when the time’s right…

Chime in with your thoughts on who Drake should collab with next.
