Beats and Bars Vol.2 “The Lawndale Project” [Mixtape]

For those that are not familia, Beats and Bars is an after school program that Rafael Navarro (Navarro fka Scheme) runs out of Little Village Lawndale High School on the southwest side of the city. This past summer his group of students worked on their follow up to their debut project and now deliver “Beats and Bars Vol.2: The Lawndale Project”. More on the project below:

The Lawndale Project was written, produced and recorded within a 6 week time span in a small makeshift studio at Little Village Lawndale High School as part of the Beats and Bars program ran by Navarro. A collaborative effort amongst a group of teens from the SW side of Chicago, the Lawndale Project embodies their realities, their truths as well as their aspirations. With production by Disrupt, CashmoneyAP (Chief Keef, Fetty Wap, G Herbo, Young Thug), Trumaine, Al Dilla and Nero; the EP becomes the soundtrack to their daily lives as well as their ambitions. The Lawndale Project is the 2nd album released via the Beats and Bars after school program.
