Kanye West f/ Kendrick Lamar “No More Parties in L.A.”

After Kim’s update the other night, Kanye fans were still on pins and needles as G.O.O.D. Friday came and went with the “No Parties in L.A.” full version set to drop any minute. Kanye kicks off the week with the final product in the wee hours in the morning and is this the rapping ‘Ye you’ve been waiting for?

Not to mention a new Kendrick Lamar verse to kick it off?

It’s an engaging 6 minute listen as Kendrick first takesover the Madlib beat to paint the picture of the L.A. nightlife and spit some of the superficial truths that are out there too. Kanye takes over the latter two-thirds to first reflect on how he became A-List when he couldn’t get on a list. At the “back to the regular scheduled programming” transition, Kanye comes at it with nonstop bars with what’s currently on his mind. Overall, both emcees balance some explicit rhymes with pieces of high truth and substance so it’s cool to discover it on first and subsequent listens. I dig it for that the most and the simple quantity of raps from both Kanye and Kendrick.

And for that Kanye fan…. (you know who you are)

I know some fans thought I wouldn’t rap like this again,
But the writer’s block MC’s cancel your plans,
A 38-year old, 8-year old with rich n**** problems…

Sidebar: Did ‘Ye end this, after the bars referencing “Real Friends”, with an old sound effect from an arcade basketball game (NBA Jam?) that happened after a make? Swish…?!

*Tibs Fav. (with more listens, it’s still as fascinating, but I do grade Ye on a higher curve for him.)
