Common “#LiftOff Freestyle”

Best freestyle I’ve heard in awhile. Simply put.

For one, it’s truly off the top. Common takes the last word the radio host says to kick it off. Then he cleverly drops the entire LA Leakers gang as he revisits one of Be‘s best songs and beats, “The Food”. And finally, Com Sense ends it with an appropriate Valentine’s Day punchline. The rhymes in between are slick and focused, even if it dabbles onto some deprecating humor about Com’s bald head. Ha! Run this one once, then run it again, then make sure you download that new “Made In Black America” featuring Ab-Soul.

And oh, the interview with the LA Leakers can be heard below. Common reflects on the first time he’s worked with Kanye West on “The Food” (I learned about how this came together), says that College Dropout was “unprecedented”, and finally talks about some of the “some of the greatest music I have ever made in my life” for his upcoming album, Nobody’s Smiling, due out sometime this summer.
