Goodbye Tomorrow “Jay Z”

The difference between the truth we feel and the lies they tell.

Here is the video of 2015 so far.

It comes courtesy of new artist Goodbye Tomorrow and this art piece titled “JAY Z”: A Dissertation on the Diaspora of the Black Soul.

So this is essentially commentary on racial perceptions, control, and as a result: freeing your consciousness. It’s an audio/visual experience that truly delivers a thought-provoking, even controversial message on today’s society.

For me too, this video is an elite example of the visuals transforming the meaning of the audio to something greater. I have long had a grasp of the climate of music videos and while I will say there are certainly artistic visuals out there that expand on songs, this art is more few and far between as, possibly ever.

With “Jay Z”, the audio and visuals work uniquely together and each speak to the diaspora of the black soul. All I want to say is to keep that in mind when listening and viewing, and interpret it how you may. Let it digest, and as the video instructs: rewind. The second viewing is a powerful new perspective compared to your first.

Who is Goodbye Tomorrow? This may be your next question. All I’ll say on that is that we have been close to see the artist’s growth in Chicago and just stoked for you all to see what’s next. For now, head on over to goodbyetomorrow.com to get even more of a glimpse and even more of the beautiful design seen throughout the video.

I particularly love the nods to 90s Windows graphics. Dive into these whenever you see 'em.
