2Pac is one of my favorite artists of all-time. Easily someone I can listen to at anytime. So why am I not as excited to see “new 2Pac single” as much as I probably should be?
Well, many will probably feel the same given the girth of posthumous releases involving 2Pac’s unreleased work. We’ve heard a lot of today’s rappers on the same track with ‘Pac by now, some were great, some fell flat, but now there’s one more chance to hear another fantasy collab come to life.
The news today via the The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation is to release a new single featuring “several Hip Hop stars,” according to All Hip Hop. The proceeds from the sale of the song will go to help support the upkeep of the foundation’s Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The song will be available for $0.99 at 2Pac.com and alll funds will go to the Shakur Foundation.
So all for a good cause and no matter what, and no matter who’s featured on it, it’ll be a very curious listen to say the least. More on this sooner than later, hopefully.
Sidebar: When searching 2Pac on Twitter for a photo, I came across this cool mash-up of ‘Pac’s “Thugz Mansion” over Bank$’ “Drowning”. The vibe of her production actually meshes really well with the first verse so I figured I’d pass it along here too.
