D. Rose, ice cold.
One of the games of the season took place in Oakland tonight as the Bulls snapped the Warriors’ 19-game winning streak at home with a 113-111 OT win, capped off by Derrick Rose’s smooth step-back J with 7 seconds left. That bounce is insane.
The game was a weird one in which the Bulls still won, missing 2 starters (Mike Dunleavy, ankle; Jimmy Butler, illness) and Rose committing 11 turnovers, missing 20 shots, and only having 1 assist. Those numbers are as ugly as those line-drive 3s he was bricking at the end of the game, but Rose was in attack mode and still managed to put up 30. The aggressive way he was playing alone makes it a net positive. This shot only amplified that, of course.
One of Rose’s turnovers was capitalized in a special way by Steph Curry. I’ve had to watch this a few times too. *dap*
But all in all, the Bulls get the last laugh and probably their most impressive W of the season. Trap game alert in L.A. on Thursday, but as Taj Gibson so poignantly says, tonite was a big W for the Bulls.
