Most of the NBA design world slammed the new L.A. Clippers logo and uniforms revealed earlier this summer and for warranted reason.
It was harsh enough that ESPN’s Uni Watch ran a redesign contest and got a flurry of cool and creative submissions from graphic designers around the globe. None better than this one though, the one they in fact declared the winner.
Dan Kennedy created this lookbook of sorts highlighting the logo, home, away, and alternate uniforms, and court design for the imagined Clippers. Everything about it is superb: the color scheme, the shades of blue, the fierce ship logo, the anchor secondary logo, the wavy Los Angeles type on the jerseys, something different for the red alternates, and down to the waves on the court. I was equally impressed, then just as much frustrated that something this clean won’t be used for the real Clippers entering this season and beyond.
But hey, maybe if enough people tweeted at the Clippers about this, change could come? Without further ado…
