While I greatly anticipate the other 2K, today I stumbled on this new video of gameplay for WWE 2K16 and its cover star: Stone Cold Steve Austin.
As a 90s wrestling fan, it’s simply cool to see the evolution of video game technology including our favorite characters of past and no doubt Stone Cold is towards the top of the list.
So imagine my reaction while watching this amazing recreation of Stone Cold’s classic King of the Ring Finals bout with Jake “The Snake” Roberts that birthed his famous “Austin 3:16” catchphrase and kickstarted his career towards superstardom. Watch above for the cutscenes before, and after, using the audio from the actual match and then see how the game actually plays as you control Austin and win the match. Looks like a lot of fun.
We’ll get to play this and more for Stone Cold’s Showcase Mode come October 27th.
(And by the way, with the return of Sting and the Dudley Boyz on RAW last night, I may just be back in on wrestling in 2015, ha!)
