Met Gala Fashion

The biggest celebrities in the most elaborate formal wear. Here’s quite the gallery featuring KimYe, The Carters, Common, John Legend & Chrissy Teigen, Rihanna, Cassie & Diddy, FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson, Dwyane Wade & Gabrielle Union, Justin Bieber, Solange, and oh yeah J. Lo. Based on the Twitter volume I perused, Beyonce seems to be the big winner and I agree, she definitely killed. Also that Wizard of Oz meme on Rihanna’s dress. So it’s a draw.

Also, lowkey this is perfect.

Rihanna’s first Puma ad

Rihanna made waves back in December when she signed on to be a creative director for Puma to “work with Puma to design and customize classic Puma styles as well as create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio.”

Today, above, marks the first ad that Rih appears in for Puma and no doubt she sports their athletic gear in her own unique style. No word on if she designed any of the clothing/shoes (Pulse XT sneakers) but that, and her own Puma collection, is likely still in the works. Stay tuned.

Rihanna V Magazine Spread

Rihanna sizzles (of course) in her latest fashion spread for V Magazine, donning the cover (and not much else) in the seductive photos above. Her white blonde wig gives Rih yet another unique, striking look too. Finally, Mobil is my favorite gas station so big ups for the product placement!

Adding to the fun is her day-late 4/20 track, “James Joint”, an interlude for R8 she says she’s in love with. Peep the sound and quotes:

“Dude, I’m in love with my interludes. This one called ‘James,’ joint is on constant repeat. [The album is] soulful and aggressive, whether it’s lyrically, musically, or just the tone of my voice.”

“In celebration of 420, here’s an interlude from my 8th studio album that I call James Joint.”

Y-3 Tennis French Open collection

adidas Y-3 continues to make moves in 2015 and the latest one is a new Tennis collection for the upcoming French Open in late May.

As a big tennis fan and casual player, I appreciate this and will be looking to up my gear just in time for the wonderful spring and summer weather. This is the best place to start as I love the consistent Hawaiian floral theme from the S/S collection throughout each of the black and white pieces. Normally I don’t vibe with floral prints too, but only when they’re used subtly like they are as a color accent like across the board above, I’m all in.

The shoes too — the Roland Garros adiZero Y-3 All Court — are not only aesthetically beautiful but also feature ADIPRENE and ADIWEAR technology for what seems like a great performance shoe on the hard courts too.

Not a player and don’t have a need for the full tennis performance uniform, for instance? You can still rock the minimalist track jacket and pants, which could double as workout clothes are a sleek casual fit. I’m at least getting the graphic tee; that Roland Garros | Paris logo looks especially great with the flowers and is the collection’s least expensive piece too: $45.

Browse and purchase even more of the collection here (Men | Women) and look for adidas athletes Ana Ivanovic and the Frenchman himself, Jo-Willfred Tsonga, to wear the collection during the French Open in late May.

Kanye West: The Robin Hood of Fashion

I don’t want to disrespect designers by calling myself a designer. I just think I have a vision of something that I want to do.

Kanye West sat with Style.com this weekend and talked all about his big week in the fashion world after the hotly talked about release of Yeezy Season 1 with adidas. When Yeezy talks, it’s very much intriguing and this is no different for even the most casual of fans of fashion.

‘Ye provides some clarity on his goals if they weren’t already clear for ya. He basically says fuck classism, fuck elitism, and he wants to provide high-end fashion for everybody — hence the headline that Style also conveys. Kanye is blunt, honest, reflective, and focused. This really is only the beginning.

As Kanye tweeted, please read. These are just a couple of the many quotables that reeled me in.

One of my dreams was to be the head creative director of the Gap. I’d like to be the Steve Jobs of the Gap.

BONUS: Kanye also tweeted this: a Hypebeast article “The adidas Plan to Take Over America”

John Legend & Chrissy Teigen for GQ

Every week there’s a new photoshoot that shuts it down for the rest and on Monday, we already have the winner. It’s John Legend & Chrissy Teigen for GQ as their cameras capture the fashionable power couple in some, albeit contrived, couple-y moments. No matter, they look fly, they look in love, and now every guy is even more jealous of John Legend… Chrissy sizzles and leaves little to the imagination (NSFW as you press right on the gallery above.)

Head over to GQ to watch John & Chrissy describe their worst date and play a game of cute or stupid?

Plus, ICYMI: The power couple covered the new Architectural Digest (the go-to of architecture magazines and a loyal subscriber, right here. Still waiting on my ish to come in the mail.)
