This afternoon, UnderArmour announced one more colorway of the #CurryOne hi-tops, and it’s this sleek “Black & Gold Banner” version in the gallery above.
It’s similar to the black colorway Curry rocked in the Finals (below), but this version differs with a darker shade of gold and an all-black bottom — probably my favorite feature of the shoe.
I previously praised the Curry One for its performance, having copped the Away ‘Camo’ version in April as my on-court shoe, so naturally, I suggest this striking colorway. In fact, I may even swing having the extra pair going forward. As you can see, we’ll all have our chance on Wednesday.
The news of a release date for the colorway of the Yeezy Boost I really really want dropped yesterday (along with this image of retailers getting the shipment in advance.) Just catching wind of the date now as “an independent retailer has confirmed to Complex that the black Yeezy Boost 350 is set to release on August 22, 2015.”
Whoo, that’s just a few weeks to keep refreshing my adidas Confirmed app and stay at home, crying see if I’m lucky. Seriously though, the all-black suits my style right now so I’d love to get my hands on this. Good luck!
FOH shoe leaks!
Probably not what D. Rose and adidas were thinking exactly, but after some rumored looks at Rose’s 6th signature shoe hit the web recently, Rose himself revealed a sleek black/red colorway on his Facebook.
Pretty sweet photo, first and foremost, and it’s cool to see the overall aesthetic continue to look much different than its predecessor. I wasn’t a fan of the 5’s look as much and holding on my full praise til I see the 6 in person or on the court. Either way, a cool first step and hopefully the shoes will aid Rose and the Bulls to the promised land this season! (That’s most important!)
“Creators never stop.”
(I dig that, adidas.)
With all the hoopla surrounding yesterday’s Meek Mill Drake “diss”, you may have missed the announcement of the hotly anticipated OVO Air Jordan X and when you can get it.
The official images were leaked off Nike’s servers earlier this week and can be seen in the gallery above. Also: all the fresh new OVO gear that you can get at this weekend’s OVO Fest in Toronto (ya know, if you’re not at Lollapalooza…)
Take a look!
I couldn’t let the day get away without spotlighting the announcement of Pharrell x adidas Supershell. He links up with 4 artists to collaborate on a new, limited release on August 7th. These designs are already fresh and that’s even before you dive into the collaborating artist and Pharrell’s reasons for inspiration.
I’m particularly highlighting Zaha Hadid, given my architecture degree and the fact that she’s one of my favorite architects. The shelltoe is amazing and the yellow accents are subtle and on point too. In the video, there’s some flower print to the shelltoes and that certainly works too. Scroll below for the photos and the video wherein these quotables are derived from.
More on the other collabs below!
Here is the first official look at Kendrick Lamar’s first shoe with Reebok — the Kendrick Lamar Reebok Ventilator.
And as you’ll notice, Kendrick plans to bring Crips and Bloods together with the shoe’s blue and red combo, inspired no doubt by his hometown of Compton. I dig the concept and it’s carried out well fashionably too. Look to see these on the streets in the U.S. soon for $143 and it looks like in the U.K. right now on Europe retailer Sneaker Baas.

The Yeezy Collection is heavily rumored for a full release this Fall so this news shouldn’t be too shocking. However, according to the Sneaker Illuminati, the Yeezy Boot 950 will definitely see release this fall, as well as that ninja black colorway (Pirate Black, technically) of the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Lows. All of these colorways seen back at the fashion show this winter I would love to rock (that includes you, Moon Rock) so I’ll start tucking away some cash and maybe save a summer vacay for this Fall.
All the colorways for the Yeezy Boot are: Peyote, Pirate Black, Moon Rock, and Chocolate.
For the Yeezy Boost 350: Pirate Black, Beluga Blue/Black, and Silver Grey/Black.
