Expect a flurry of new 50 Cent content leading up to his June 3rd album release. Above is the album art for Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win — Fiddy’s first independent, non-Interscope release. He plans on dropping two new tracks off the album next week: “Hold On” and “Don’t Worry Bout It” featuring Yo Gotti.
In a new press conference before Sunday’s Daytona 500, 50 Cent answered a few questions and spilled details on the next single for his upcoming album, Animal Ambition. It’s called “Smoke”, will feature Trey Songz, and is produced by none other than Dr. Dre. Happy to see this reunion of Fif and Dre — maybe it’ll finally propel 50 up closer to the level he once was. Also, as a Trey Songz fan, I’m lookin’ forward to him killin’ the hook on a Dre beat, especially since it’s also revealed that Chef Tone co-wrote. Watch the footage above.
Shadowing his tentative June release of “Animal Ambition” 50 Cent releases the video for “The Funeral.” 50, who just left Shady/Aftermath/Interscope records, is now under an Independent deal with Caroline/Capitol.
I have had great success to date with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and I’d like to thank Eminem and Dr. Dre for giving me an incredible opportunity. I’ve learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision.

Big news in the music business world today as it’s officially announced that 50 Cent has left the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope label after 12 years. In addition, he’s signing with Caroline Records — the independent faction of Capitol Records, which means his next album is finally coming out. The news that supports that today is that Animal Ambition will see release on June 3rd. Plus, 2 new songs and videos will drop on March 18th with one more song/video to drop each week leading up to June 3rd.
Whew, what a turn of events! But once again, this is good… 50’s album will definitely drop now.
To cap it off, here’s Eminem‘s statement:
“Both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had the chance to play a part in 50′s career. Shady simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent. I’ve developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and that’s not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit.”
Let’s face it: there was more cool shit that happened on Grammy Day that didn’t necessarily happen at the Grammys. 1. Whatever Kanye West was up to. 2. The other cool things I saw on Instagram tonight.
Some of it did though. First above: Macklemore, winner of Best Rap Album Grammy, texts Kendrick Lamar that he robbed him of Best Rap Album Grammy, sans emojis unfortunately. Social media tends to agree (about the robbery, not the emojis), amidst many unfair shade tweets against Macklemore.
Anyway, there are lots of Grammy footnotes and other hilarious, random stuff below so let’s get on with it…

UPDATE: The CDQ version is now below. Very solid beat from Streetrunner, and I’m vibing with Fat Joe’s verse a lil more than 50’s.
DJ Kay Slay brings together former foes Fat Joe & 50 Cent as the New York emcees appear together on the new track “Free Again”. Joe & Fif squashed their beef at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards under the circumstances of mutual friend Chris Lighty’s tragic suicide. Now, what do you think of both trying to make a comeback in 2014?
