Kanye West | Yeezy Boost Launch (Video)

I want people to feel like awesome is possible.

Above is a brand new, chilling, and quick video recap by adidas of Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost launch on Valentine’s Day last month. Kanye famously surprised fans and hand delivered pairs to lucky fans in New York (and later in London) and watching all of these fans’ reactions is pretty heartwarming. I have to say, I also enjoy the quick narration from ‘Ye to close out the video. It’s quick to get inspired with a press of the play button above.

Wale previewed his upcoming collab with Kanye today in this brief video below. This, on top of a possible idea for new Wizards unis designed by Kanye that he revealed last month.

And finally, TMZ caught Kanye arriving at LAX and Kanye reaffirmed that Obama has called his house phone after the Pres said he doesn’t have Kanye’s phone number on Kimmel the other night.

Kanye talks Yeezy Season 1 significance

On the heels of the resounding release of Yeezy Season 1 a few days ago, Complex got to sit down for a very interesting interview with Yeezy himself.

It all centers around fashion and features some really real nuggets on the impact Yeezy Season 1 has already had in the fashion world and, just as importantly in the bigger picture, the unknowns. I like some of the comments the interviewer James Harris made as well and overall, this is a pretty quick and inspiring read for any creative and anyone trying to see more quotes from Kanye.

The full interview is here and I couldn’t help but insert an excerpt that ends on 3 simple, powerful words that makes me look ahead.

But going back to the established dudes, you’re friends with a lot of fashion designers, like Riccardo Tisci, Alexander Wang, Olivier Rousteing… Have they given you any feedback on the collection?
They support me one hundred percent. They sent flowers, emails, and just love. They know I’m in that design office. They know I’m there giving an opinion. They know the concept of celebrity designer is so far out the window.

I feel like I’m Eminem, you know? You don’t think “white rapper.” You just think Eminem. You don’t think celebrity designer, straight designer, black designer, all these types of things that kind of held me back conceptually in being accepted as a designer. You just think of those words. But when those moon boots come out, you put them on your feet and just swag out and go somewhere with your friends, those words don’t matter.

I’m just happy that I was able to apply the mentality and passion that brought the College Dropout into existence. Now, I may finally have enough of a point of view and understanding to apply and create. Enough of a vision to make. There’s so many far more talented designers but I just have a perspective and a heart. And I’m gonna give all the heart and perspective that I can.

So what’s next?
More dope shit.

Kanye: “You just saw the future.”

Speaking about his Yeezy Season 1 collection, Kanye had this to say to MTV Style:

For anyone who reviews the collection poorly — not even to put that energy out there — but if they do, I feel really sorry that they don’t have a vision for what the future holds. Because you just saw the future.

ICYMI: “Wolves” in its highest quality

Also, today was Yeezy Boost release day for the lucky few that got their reservations #Confirmed by adidas Originals. To make it even more special, Kanye himself surprise hand delivered the shoe to some of those fans in NYC (photos via @adidasoriginals). Those candids are pretty amazing for all involved.

adidas x Kanye | YEEZY SEASON 1

Official video of the fashion show + “Wolves” in its highest quality yet (starts at 8:19).

I gotta admit, I first thought the live trumpet and military formations was a little weird but that quickly grew on me. There’s a clear continuity in the colors and style and a few pieces stand out for me.

For one, there are the Yeezy Boost Lows and the Yeezy Boots (unofficial titles). I prefer the boots seen below.

Other pieces I enjoy: the crop tops for women and literally all the camo. My free spending self would cop a camo jacket, the Boots and the Boosts.

More photos of the Yezzy Boost Lows and Yeezy Season 1 Collection are on the tumblr — thepresentme.tumblr.com.

First impressions of “Wolves” + more details from earlier today are here. (Spoiler: I really like “Wolves”.)

Kanye West f/ Vic Mensa & Sia “Wolves” (Full Preview)

The Kanye x adidas Fashion Show just went down in NYC and more details and previews have naturally surfaced (scroll below for the Yeezy Boost Lows.)

The music takes the forefront as Kanye premiered track 01 off his upcoming album:

“Wolves” featuring Vic Mensa & Sia.

Wow. Look at ‘Ye branching out to another Chicago artist on the rise. Without much more ado, here’s a full HQ audio preview of the song and streamed fashion show.

UPDATE: Full, CDQ as part of the new adidas Originals official video. Starts at 8:19 mark.

I’m vibing with the booming production, by Cashmere Cat & Sinjin Hawke, and ‘Ye’s autotune carries the first third of the record with Vic harmonizing on the bridge. Sia comes in wonderfully afterward. And overall, this is a message to let digest as well. Between all three artists, they describe not staying too high and wild and learning from times that they do. It’ll take some listens, but knowing Sia’s past helps piece her part together as well.

adidas Yeezy Boost NYC

After the Grammys last night, it feels like Friday night’s first look of the adidas Yeezy Boost is ages ago. ‘Ye and his crew were spotted wearing the sneaker throughout the weekend and have now touched down in New York City for the shoe’s confirmed release this All-Star Weekend. (Plus, Kanye is headlining a Roc Nation party with Kevin Durant later this week too.)

Here are some fresh new pics of the new Yeezys, on display at the adidas SoHo location where you can use the new Confirmed app to try and reserve your pair. Rumored price points have it at $350 though, so hopefully you’ve been saving…

More details to come as they’re released, including a solid date/time this weekend.

adidas Originals x Pharrell

While we are all anticipating adidas x Kanye, Pharrell and adidas are dropping a sleek new collection of their own. Skateboard P is a great designer in his own right and flexes such with the bold, monochromatic blue and red + classic black for a classic track jacket and new Stan Smiths. The collection drops on Saturday, the first of more to come at select boutiques and online for the rest of the year.

I love everything about this collection (especially the blue and the logo) — agree or disagree, let us know!
