Red Octobers released… and sold out

So within the last hour, the as hotly anticipated as hotly anticipated come… came and went.

Nike Beyonce-released the Air Yeezy II Red Octobers (the ‘Red Valentines’ as they’re cleverly being dubbed now) shortly after noon CT today on Twitter. One follow up tweet 11 minutes later notified us that they were sold out.

I, like many of you, saw the sold-out tweet first and refrained from throwing my phone at the wall. For now, we just have these three new official images above to droll at, as we justify that these shoes aren’t worth the thousands of dollars we’d now drop on eBay.

My range of emotions in 1 second, ironically illustrated by Kanye West.

Air Yeezy 2: ‘1 of 1’ Sample

More Air Yeezy 2 news in consecutive days as another leaked sample hits the interwebs. The images above are courtesy of Sneaker News as they drop some details on this ‘Wolf Grey / Pure Platinum’ edition that was never released… and only manufactured once.

Says SN:

According to Sami, who met and developed a relationship with Kanye through his position at Ralph Lauren, he was not only able to procure the pair straight from Mr. West, but also got some of the backstory as well. Somewhere in between the “Oreo” and “Red October” installments, this size 12 sample was whipped up as the potential third colorway. Word is that Kanye really liked the look, but Nike felt it was too similar to the others to make the desired impact and chose to eventually go another route. That didn’t stop their namesake from getting some good wear out of these in the studio and other destinations in the meantime before eventually giving them up.

Like all the colorways, this one here is real smooth. What’s puzzling to me is that Kanye gave up a 1 of 1 pair of his own kicks! Hmmph… if only there was more than 1, right folks?
