Solange brawls with… Jay Z?!?

I NEVER thought this day would come to fruition.

Solange Knowles attacked Jay-Z as soon as they got into the elevator after the Met Gala. At this point in time, it is unclear what started the brawl, but what is clear is that Solange got some HANDS. Beyonce is also seen in the video awkwardly staying out of the brawl, trying to be as neutral as possible.

TIBS UPDATE: Here’s extended footage from the elevator + a couple of perfect MEMEs.

Mariah Carey Lands Billboard Cover

There was a point in time where I didn’t believe Mariah Carey’s upcoming 14th album was coming out. I labeled this album a myth because all Carey was supplying fans with was false hope. With several delays and single mishaps, Carey had me worried she was competing for Ashanti’s record, which is the most postponed album of all time. But, as of today full hope has been restored, as Carey has exclusively revealed to Billboard she will be taking the surprise approach with the release of the album.

Mariah herself will reveal her album’s title, artwork, track listing, and music all at once via a soon-to-be-announced digital partner. Carey herself explains why she will be taking the ‘Beyoncé’ surprise route.

“I have to be the one that announces this, especially the title,” Carey says, noting that the album takes its name from a “personal possession of mine that’s part of an entity that I’ve had almost all my life.”

Mariah is also aware of the recent string of single releases that failed to compete with her previous hits.

“You would think I would be all about the singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular album I want my fans to hear it as a body of work,” she says. “This is my life since we last left off. Just picture a dot dot dot, and then here’s the album.”

So what can fans expect to hear? Billboard says big ballads and uptempo bangers. Mariah Carey’s full cover story with Billboard will be posted this coming Monday.

I don’t think the word excited correctly explains how I am feeling, because it’s beyond that. Knowing Carey and what she is capable of, this body of work for this project will be nothing short of amazing. The currently untitled album will be released May 6 (or before – who knows). Carey will have productions from Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, Hit – Boy, Big Jim Wright, and Mike Will Made It, plus features from Wale, Nas, and a surprise guest she will not reveal.

TIME Magazine: The Beyonce Edition

“Beyonce doesn’t just sit at the table.. She builds a better one.”

Queen Bey has graced the cover of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People issue looking fresh and natural as ever. Can she do any wrong?

Sheryl Sandberg, an admirer who wrote the above quote, went on to explain why exactly Beyonce is the best.

In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, ‘What would you do if you weren’t afraid?’ appears to be ‘Watch me. I’m about to do it.’

Other people mentioned in TIME’s 100 most influential people list are Pharrell, Hilary Clinton, & Kerry Washington among many more.

Coinciding with this TIME Magazine cover, Beyonce has also released “Pretty Hurts” as the next single from BEYONCE. Since its groundbreaking release, the LP has sold over 3 million worldwide and almost 2 million in the United States alone. Check out the music video for “Pretty Hurts” below.
