Death Cab For Cutie
Throwback: Here’s Beyonce at MIA ’13.
In the new video for “Feeling Myself”, Beyonce flaunts a Derrick Rose Bulls swimsuit. She’s #1.
EDIT: There were enough photos, both screencaps and official BTS pics, to make a gallery up above. Scroll below for a few good captions/memes.
I guess that’s the first thing that jumped out at me as a Bulls fan, but perhaps for you, it’ll be that Nicki and Bey are eating burgers together and showing off a fun, lighthearted side in the new visual.
Oh, but really the first thing that jumps out is that the video is exclusive to TIDAL, once again. They’ve been taking down the rips of the video, but I seen’t it before they did. EDIT: Got a new rip up below. It’s pretty fun seeing the two superstars do normal BFF things (like share Now & Laters, which was my favorite even though I prefer Jolly Ranchers.)
Below are a few more screens from the vid, a quick snippet, the official teaser, and those aforementioned memes.
Thought this story today was a cool one — The Carters bailed out protestors in Baltimore and Ferguson by wiring “tens of thousands dollars” in a non-public fashion that only became so due to some tweets from Jay Z biographer Dream Hampton.
She deleted original tweets with the news that also mentioned that Jay and Bey insisted that their donations were kept secret. I trust all of this honestly, and it’s cool that Jay and Bey were donating out of the goodness of their heart. More tidbits via Huff Post.
ICYMI: Jay Z’s B-Sides freestyle mentioning Freddie Gray & Michael Brown | Beyonce rocks a D. Rose jersey swimsuit in new “Feeling Myself” video with Nicki Minaj
The biggest celebrities in the most elaborate formal wear. Here’s quite the gallery featuring KimYe, The Carters, Common, John Legend & Chrissy Teigen, Rihanna, Cassie & Diddy, FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson, Dwyane Wade & Gabrielle Union, Justin Bieber, Solange, and oh yeah J. Lo. Based on the Twitter volume I perused, Beyonce seems to be the big winner and I agree, she definitely killed. Also that Wizard of Oz meme on Rihanna’s dress. So it’s a draw.
Also, lowkey this is perfect.
The topic of our talk switches to Drake’s upcoming fourth album. He only has two songs finished that he likes. One is a collaboration with Beyoncé that he recorded a while ago. The other is a song that he expects to inspire a paradigm shift. His days of releasing lay-up bangers that everyone loves right away are over. For now.
– Four-Pins profile by Ernest Baker
Up above is the musical news revealed in a fascinating new profile following Drake around during Coachella weekend by Ernest Baker for Four-Pins. Sure, it’s not much, but it also gives us a glimpse at how far along Drake is for Views From The 6 and just as importantly, the mindset approaching the album, stressing a new sound. I agree that’s where Drizzy has to take it with this next one.
Amongst the other great details with Drake that weekend was his awareness a couple days later that the Coachella performance received negative reviews and that he’ll have a surprise guest that’s even better next weekend. I hope so because we all remember last weekend as Madonna’s make out. In fact, here’s a direct quote from Drake on the performance:
I took an L for the first time. I just have to reassess what went wrong with my judgment.
Wow. More real gems and just a picture of his real personality are scattered throughout the profile, which is definitely a must-read for Drake fans.
In Drake merchandise news, he surprise dropped the long-awaited OVO Jordans last night at the OVO Pop-Up Shop in L.A. (cold) and released an official OVO Playoff tee with his hometown Raptors in advance of tomorrow’s first round game. All images below. Unfortunately for the shoes, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late definitely applies (h/t Complex.)
NEW Bey today as she releases a slow piano, stripped down new song/video for “Die With You” — a dedication to her husband Jay Z with a lyric like,
I don’t have a reason to be if I can’t be with you … I live so I can die with you.
Beyonce appears in the video with a similar raw look — a get out of bed braids hairstyle, backwards hat, and Michael Jackson “Thriller” t-shirt. Hey, lowkey, guys love this look too, ladies.
“Die With You” is a TIDAL “exclusive”, but really will be on YouTube in no time. However, sometimes it gets taken down right away. Will update with a working version when the internet comes out on top, as always.
UPDATE: Internet stays winning.
I was searching for some videos of last night’s Stevie Wonder tribute and found one of the main performances. It was courtesy of Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Gary Clark Jr. who combined to cover “Higher Ground”. Those 3 names + Stevie Wonder. A no doubt viewing up above, ICYMI.
