Birdman & Young Thug allegedly involved in murder plot against Lil Wayne

Ok, I’ve admittedly been off on every little twist in this Birdman/Young Thug vs. Lil Wayne saga. Apparently they (Birdman and Weezy) confronted each other this past weekend in Miami. But this turn of events is too crazy not to inform and write about.

Read the headline again!

Here’s the description and tweets, straight from Miss Info:

On Wednesday night, Atlanta WSB-TV’s Mike Petchenik reported that in an indictment, Birdman and Young Thug conspired to kill Lil’ Wayne, which lead to shooter Jimmy Carlton Winfrey carrying out Thug’s order in that tour bus shooting in April.

The indictment also cites Young Thug’s “Halftime” music video, where Winfrey, a close associate of the rapper, is seen brandishing an assault rifle. In that shooting back in April, Lil’ Wayne’s tour bus was hit with gunfire following a show at Club Compound. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting, and Jimmy Carlton Winfrey was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity.

Winfrey was known as Thug’s former manager and remained a close friend and associate of the rapper. The new development comes just hours after Young Thug was arrested for allegedly threatening a mall security guard.

Aight guys, this is getting too far. We don’t want this to escalate even more than this (which goes without saying) so hopefully this news, whether 100% true or not, inspires some sort of burying of the hatchet. Stay tuned…

Lil Wayne safe as police surround home

Today’s afternoon scare in hip hop took place in Miami, namely at Lil Wayne’s home where police surrounded his mansion. Fortunately, these updates followed… (via TMZ)

11:55 AM PT — Police have officially declared this incident a swatting, writing on Twitter, “MBPD handles all calls of this nature in a serious manner . In this case it appears to have be a hoax @ #LiLWaynes home . #Swatting”

11:35 AM PT — Wayne posted a photo minutes ago from a recording studio. Meanwhile, Miami Beach PD have cleared the perimeter of the home and tweeted they believe “swatting” is a possibility.

11:00 AM PT — Young Money just tweeted, “Wayne is okay. Wasn’t home during alleged events.”

Of course, Twitter speculation ran rampant that Birdman has it in for Wayne. Let’s not jump to conclusions people… this being a hoax turns out to be even better than originally speculated (an actual shooting.)

Lil Wayne talks Birdman, FWA, more

Lil Wayne spoke on a variety of topics in a new interview today with RollingStone.

He says he and Birdman are not on speaking terms, gives a release month for the Free Weezy Album, confirms Tha Carter V is done, and has a phenomenal quote about his plans after his overseas tour this year.

Plus, in related news, it turns out Drake’s IYRTITL is going to count towards his Cash Money contract. *shifts eyes*

On Birdman:

Wayne tells Rolling Stone that he and Birdman are no longer on speaking terms. “I have no words,” he says. “I’m super-numb to it, to tell you the truth.”

After we talk some more, he admits that the legal wrangling has been weighing on his mind. “I’m human,” he says. “But it’s nothing that a good blunt can’t cure.”

On Free Weezy Album:

In the meantime, he’s been putting in 12-hour studio shifts on an all-new project: the cleverly titled The Free Weezy Album, which he plans to release for free in March. “I’m working on it every day, man,” he says. “I guarantee it’s going to be something dope. If you don’t want a musician being creative, don’t get The Free Weezy Album.”

On Tha Carter V:

Wayne says that Tha Carter V, which he finished recording some time ago, is on ice for now. “It’s super-done,” he says. “Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it’s a dead subject right now. It’s a jewel in the safe. It’s that stash-house money.”

On his future:

Last year, Wayne hinted that he might be ready to retire from music, but he says he’s got other ideas now. “I’ve thought about it,” he says. “But for a person like me that bleeds, eats, sleeps and shits music, it’s hard to do.” He hopes to spend much of 2015 on tour, and he’d like to do some recording overseas while he’s at it. “When I go home, I want my actual house to be a vacation,” he says. “And I might give y’all three new kids from four different women. You know how I do it.”

Lil Wayne suing Birdman for $51 million

That’s not a typo, people.

What was reported last week as $8 million is now Fifty-One Million. Via TMZ, Wayne is also asking the judge to declare he’s the joint copyright owner for all Young Money recordings, which include Drake & Nicki of course. Whew, this is getting ugly. More on this as the story keeps developing…

Lil Wayne suing Birdman for $8 million

It seems like the diss on track 01 of Sorry 4 The Wait 2 was the tipping point.

First, Birdman was upset, now Lil Wayne is suing Birdman and Cash Money for $8 million in advances, reports TMZ. Weezy claims that Birdman is violating their contract by withholding Tha Carter 5. Birdman has said the album will be out in “due time”, but right now there are no signs of it to come. Really unfortunate that it is coming to this…

Birdman upset at Lil Wayne’s diss

On Sorry 4 The Wait 2, Lil Wayne wastes little time dissing his (ex?) close friend and collaborator Birdman by slandering him on track numero uno, his remix of “CoCo”. The lines in question:

Birdman Jr.? More like ugly duckling

Cash Money is an army / I’m a one man army / And if them n*****s comin’ for me, I’m going out like Tony

All I got is Young Money, no more Cash n****

As you may expect, the diss didn’t sit well with Birdman and according to a TMZ story today, quoting a source close to Birdman saying it’s, “especially galling to Birdman because he feels the man he calls ‘son’ is treating him like some random producer.” Speculation continues that the two may even go to court as it looks like no side is budging on the release of the (once) highly anticipated Carter V.

Stay tuned.
