Back from my Saturday night to see that Curren$y spent his Saturday night releasing a free, new EP Saturday Night Car Tunes. Some big names appear like Wiz Khalifa and Birdman, who’s also joined by Gunplay on a 3-man collab. Stream below and download.
A la Game’s Michael Jackson tribute track (Remember that one?! Loved that one.), he recruits an incredibly big lineup of big names for a tribute to the fallen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. It naturally took a lot of time for all these artists listed above in the cover art to do their thing and yet, the song still impacts at a time when a message this big and delivered by this many big artists can really speak to the people. Can’t knock that sentiment right?
It’s hard to pick my favorite raps from this one, but I will say that TGT’s singing contribution is the perfect break between each series of verses. Keep your ears peeled.
New Orleans, LA emcee Curren$y has a huge connection to Chicago’s music scene and enlists both Thelonious Martin and Professor Fox to produce his latest offering “House Shoes”. The song and visual were both made in Chicago.
Ah yes! A lovely visit from producer M.Stacks to the Chi. Luckily, we both made time to linger around the city and have a sit down before his show with Boldy James. The weather was in perfect form to talk about the music industry (sunny and windy, of course).
During our casual interview after breakfast, we talked about the big name artists he produces for. These artists include Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Curren$y, Mac Miller, Naledge, Chicago’s very own GLC and many more. What an lifestyle that is. Being able to work for so many talented rappers must be ridiculous. I would say that’s pretty awesome! M. Stacks also talks about starting young, social media, his big influence (you’ll never guess), and more.
His upcoming work of art #CONNECTEDEVERYWHERE2 is being released on July 13th! It includes plenty of your favorite artists, no need to worry. Keep a look out for it. It’s going to be crazy.
Enjoy the interview, friends! And don’t forget…Gowhere You Love.
