Here is the first offering of Surf — Chance and his Social Experiment collective’s new album supposed to drop before the end of the year. It’s called “Sunday Candy”, which has a couple new verses from Chance and features singer Jamila Woods. Donnie Trumpet is credited with the lead as he puts down a nice feel to the record with the help of Peter CottonTale & Nate Fox. Here’s what Donnie said to FADER:
This song specifically is a great representation of [The Social Experiment’s] collaborative efforts. It’s my curation, but then bringing it to the table with all these beautiful people and including them in their own way. Jamila sang on that hook, then I brought it to the collective. Peter added some great layers of texture and helped produce, Nate added a bunch of drums, tons of our friends from Chicago played instruments and added their ideas.
Stream below — a nice soulful feel to it and perfect for the fam with the holidays on deck.
Rivers runnin’ down my face..
Nikki Jean’s hook will surely get stuck in your head after just one listen to her new track and collaboration with the hometown’s Social Experiment collective. Donnie Trumpet, namely, provides the horns and Nikki’s now consistent producer, Double-0 (where’s my Kidz In The Hall fans at??), provides the catchy overall production. To bring it complete, Nikki sounds wonderful with the vocals throughout, as Hypetrak says is sung with a “TC Helicon voice live touch.” Needless to say, this new preview off the upcoming Champagne Water EP is a nice add to your rotation.

The O’My’s and Save Money’s Donnie Trumpet come together to ring out the end of the summer and lead us into the fall with a small EP, “Family Cookout”.
Chance made some noise this weekend, to say the least, as he closed down Lollapalooza as the hip hop headliner on Day 3, performing while the likes of Skrillex and Kings of Leon were in other areas of Grant Park. He brought out R. Kelly, Vic Mensa, and rocked a crowd said to be over 60,000 people. Now, you can relive or watch for the 1st time, Chance’s 75-minute set with his Social Experiment band. The familiar names are playing: Peter CottonTale, Donnie Trumpet, Lili K, and Eryn Allen Kane. Watch the Chance The Rapper Full Lollapalooza Set above and enjoy!
NEW Chance. And boy, does he have some help on this one. Wyclef Jean, Francis & The Lights, Jessie Ware, Elle Varner, Eryn Allen Kane, The O’My’s, Peter Cottontale and Donnie Trumpet all contribute.
“Wonderful Everyday: Arthur”, a remix of the Arthur theme, comes from a good place and spreads a simple, positive message, encapsulated by Chance below.
Believe in yourself, for that’s the place you start.
More great words follow the mix of background vocals and live instrumentation. At the very least, you can appreciate this and I think it’s a perfect, feel-good song that’ll come alive for a huge crowd… like Lollapalooza this Sunday night. Listen/download below (via Lolla themselves) #Arthur
