Not a big story, albeit, a fun one: Dr. Dre is set to buy Tom Brady & Gisele‘s mansion in L.A.
Says TMZ about the 18,700 ft. Brentwood mansion,
We’re told there were “multiple interested parties ready to put offers on the house” … but Dre swooped in with a solid offer first … and T&G decided to sell to the Doc.
Sources tell us the deal has not yet closed — but it’s close.
Tom and Gisele were offering the house fully furnished … but sources tell us Dre has his own stuff he wants to put in the house — and has chosen to pass on all of the stuff the Bradys spent years collecting from various trips around the world.
As for Dre’s finances, he was recently listed in Forbes richest hip hop stars with an approximate net worth of $550 MILLION.
Wowzers. Check out the gallery above for photos (29 in all) of Dre’s pending new pad. My favorite part: gotta be the pool. Not too bad for a young producer from Compton.
With the Donald Sterling banned for life hammer put forth by Commissioner Silver yesterday, the hip hop world has certainly chimed in as well. Namely, Dr. Dre & Diddy (and even Rick Ross) are seriously interested in buying the Clippers. I bet the names not in parenthesis can pony up the cash (Bill Simmons notes they’re worth 1.5b, easy). Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see the Sterling sale move forward no matter if the hip hop world is involved.
One day after the audio release, here’s the new video from 50 for his Trey Songz, Dr. Dre assisted single “Smoke”. The visuals play with a sleek neon color palette and keep things as entertaining as the song. I personally like the overall sound of the single — signature Dre synths, Trey Songz showin’ his versatility with the hook and his verse (the end of which is nice), and 50’s grimy delivery. I should note that I didn’t like the lack of rhythm in the first verse, and was thankful 50’s flow returned for the second verse. Solid in every aspect and probably my favorite preview of Animal Ambition thus far.

Ok, now we’re talking 50.
The news of this collab isn’t news, but the release date and artwork above is. Trey Songz and Dre will be joining Fif on April 1st on “Smoke”, and this (like many others before it) has the potential to be 50’s next big hit, considering the names involved. TBD…
ICYMI: All the latest ‘Animal Ambition’ songs/videos
In a new press conference before Sunday’s Daytona 500, 50 Cent answered a few questions and spilled details on the next single for his upcoming album, Animal Ambition. It’s called “Smoke”, will feature Trey Songz, and is produced by none other than Dr. Dre. Happy to see this reunion of Fif and Dre — maybe it’ll finally propel 50 up closer to the level he once was. Also, as a Trey Songz fan, I’m lookin’ forward to him killin’ the hook on a Dre beat, especially since it’s also revealed that Chef Tone co-wrote. Watch the footage above.
