Fabolous channels his Bishop from Juice for his latest visual off The Young OG Project. As a fan of that movie and the legendary 2Pac role, I’m pressing play. Join me above.
Fabolous, apparent original owner of the Kendrick TPAB “Alright” beat, let loose his version and visual for it with this quick-hit video above. I enjoyed his slick verses on it and now “Awwright” is stuck in my head. Time will tell if that’ll seep into a listen of the original. Solid stuff though from Fab, regardless.
Fabolous hinted at this last week and comes through today — the full mixtape drop of his Friday Night Freestyles series, which features all of the recent months’ throwback grooves and a couple new ones with the likes of Joe Budden and Stack Bundles featuring. Indulge below:
Fab steps out the DeLorean — like, a legit one — for the new video to “You Made Me” off his Young OG Project. Fresh, man. Everything he’s been dropping lately: p solid.
Fabolous sits down with Rob Markman of MTV News for an interesting interview appropriately dropped on #FBF Flashback Friday. It’s fitting because Fab recalls his first ever DJ Clue freestyle back in 1998, which Markman likened to getting your video on World Star Hip Hop today.
Fab not only goes through and remembers lines on the freestyle with N.O.R.E. on it as well, but he also shares how he got the name Fabolous in the first place. I’m sure the story’s been out there, but it was new to me. And yes, it’s a pretty shrug your shoulders moment involving DJ Clue. Watch and hear it below and keep it locked for Fab’s Friday night freestyle for the 6th week in a row later tonight.
UPDATE: As expected, scroll below the interview for Fabolous’ take on Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm” (no C.J. Watson.)
Upcoming R&B singer Jordan Bratton enlists Fabolous for the new single/video “Danger” and it’s a song I took a chance on and really enjoyed. The young Bratton has some high-pitched vocals and delivery that are on point and mesh well with the electronic vibe of the production. Fab is made for R&B features like this too so give this *Tibs Fav. a look and listen above.
Today’s NBA themed First Take took place at All-Star Weekend and a trio of guests came thru the debate desk. Kevin Hart is back and it’s always a good time. He has some real nice burns on Stephen A. so watch above and below for that.
Fab and Nelly also came through and offered some serious insight on the NBA. This was one episode I went out of my way to tune into live so with that said, press play ICYMI.
