Bleacher Report’s Game of Zones series has been a viral hit where they imagine the NBA world in Game of Thrones. Today, they release episode 4 which has Drake singing at about the 1:50 mark. I don’t watch GoT so I don’t totally get this, but the buzz around it from those who do think this Game of Zones series nails it. And hey, if you got Drake singing about Kyle Lowry and his Raptors out of the playoffs, then it’s got to be pretty good at least.
With Game of Thrones coming back soon, HBO has released the sequel compilation mixtape of new original songs inspired by their hit series.
Catch The Throne II is available for free download on iTunes and can be streamed below. I’ve never gotten into GoT but I know many of you out there have and can likely appreciate the music from the likes of Talib Kweli, Snoop Dogg, and Melanie Fiona even more.
01 Method Man – The Oath
02 MNDR – Run for Cover
03 Ty Dolla $ign – Never Back Down

Big Boi speeds up the flow on “Mother of Dragons” — the interesting first preview of his upcoming Game of Thrones-inspired mixtape, Catch The Throne. This slick track has a midtempo, dark mood to it, dedicated to the character Khaleesi. As you can also see from the art work, the mixtape boasts a few big-name features, with Common being the one I’m naturally most looking forward to. But Game of Thrones — sorry, I haven’t been able to get into it… and I feel like I’m the only one, ha!
