Everyone loves Jimmy Kimmel’s Celebs Read Mean Tweets series and with the Grammys now less than a week away, here’s a music-only edition with hip hoppers like Drake, Childish Gambino, Wiz Khalifa, and Iggy Azalea in the mix with a lot of other big-name musicians.
My favorite of those 4: Wiz’s mean tweet was pretty funny.
She’s doing her thing. Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.
– Kendrick Lamar
Nice, peaceful words in a time of heavy criticisms and attacks on Iggy Azalea. This was one of the eye-raising quotables in Kendrick’s latest cover story with Billboard. The full story is on newsstands now, with the only other excerpt on the Grammys below.
I appreciate [the Grammys] recognizing me. That’s not my overall goal… It’s best to just go and enjoy the festivities.
UPDATE: Here’s a link to the full cover story.

Jennifer Hudson returns the favor to Iggy Azalea with a feature for the Iggy’s re-release album out this week. Here’s a stream of “Trouble” below, along with a couple other Iggy tracks like that Ellie Goulding feature. AMA Hip Hop Album of the Year..! *side eye*
Another leak off Shady XV today is a song called “Vegas”, a Bad Meets Evil song, in fact. And it was quick to stir up some controversy as a Slim Shady rhymes/disses Iggy Azalea. That’s the sugarcoated way to put it — Em threatens to rape Iggy. As heard toward the end of the snippet below (around the shoutout to Nicki Minaj).
“So swallow my pride, you’re lucky just to follow my ride / If I let you run alongside the Humvee / Unless you’re Nicki, grab you by the wrist, let’s ski / So what’s it gon’ be / Put that shit away, Iggy / You don’t wanna blow that rape whistle on me.”
Iggy was quick to respond on Twitter below. Does anyone take Eminem serious though? Like, by no means am I advocating anything he’s saying, but this is nothing new for his Slim Shady persona. He’s literally the 1 out of 1 persons in this world that can rap about something so wrong/touchy like this that I can shrug it off because of who he is and his history of these, light-hearted, yet sick jokes. Back to this “Lose Yourself” demo though…
Tonite’s SNL musical guest: Iggy Azalea.
With her big year behind her and a new re-release album on the way, Reclassified, Iggy gets the mainstream look and performs one of the songs of 2014 “Fancy” before it blends into another of her top 10 collabs, “Black Widow” featuring Rita Ora. This medley is below, with Rita really shining of the 2. I question the lip synching though for Iggy, amirite?
Below, Iggy looks ahead with her brand new single “Beg For It” that debuted yesterday, debuting again in live version with MØ and a host of backup dancers joining her. Between this and Jim Carrey hosting, I tuned into SNL live for once. Enjoy in case you missed.
Iggy Azalea has released another single right on the heels of her “Iggy SZN” release. “Beg For It” features vocals from Danish singer, MØ and will be on Iggy’s upcoming album Reclassified. We can expect her new project to drop November 24.
Nope, it’s not #CarterSeason, #TetsuoSeason, or #KendrickSeason, it’s “Iggy SZN” according to Iggy Azalea, who proclaims such with this all-new track off her upcoming re-release album, Reclassified, on November 24th. I’m done with calling everything seasons though (even before this track, Iggy) but at the same time I shouldn’t complain since the “season” trend is about 47x less annoying than a lot of these other trends. There are synonyms for season though, just sayin’.
My season mini-rant above for some reason reminded me of the hilarious Horrible Bosses 2 trailer. Watch what happens with “Shower Buddy” in the first 50 seconds, hahah.
