Ariana Grande Tributes Whitney Houston

Singer Ariana Grande took the White House by storm last night covering Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” for an audience including Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, Ms. Aretha Franklin, & of course, President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama. Though a difficult song, Ms. Grande proved that she can take on virtually anything with her stunning rendition of the song.

Watch the beginning to see her cover “I Have Nothing”:

Afterwards, she also sang one of her very own tracks entitled “Tattooed Heart” ending the show with an energized duet with the legendary Patti Labelle, Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, Melissa Etheridge, & Tessanne Chin covering Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”

A stage of powerhouse voices indeed. The “Women Of Soul: In Performance at the White House” airs on PBS on April 7.

Audio Push “Juveniles” f/ Logic & Jill Scott

Here’s a fresh new collab outta the HS87 studio as Hit-Boy, Rey Reel, and HazeBanga provide the boomin’ backdrop for Audio Push’s latest release “Juveniles”. You also got Jill Scott performing on the hook (great words, but unfortunately she’s not singing) and Logic on the last verse. Both Logic and the duo Audio Push touch on record sales, doing music for those sales, and staying true to yourself. Good stuff, I can tell they get it. A very nice pickup on this Monday so listen/download below — off the L.A. Leakers upcoming compilation mixtape, #The2014DraftPicks.
