Statik gathers his guest stars Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$ for a party boat visual in Croatia up above. The beautiful life indeed.
Joey Bada$$ picks his DJ Premier produced cut off B4.Da.$$ to be his next visual as “Paper Trail” will appeal to the grind side of ya no matter which storyline you follow below. The black and white pick is perfect for it too. Watch below, with the album out now.
Happy birthday to the late Tupac as Joey Bada$$ is amongst those in hip hop paying tribute with his stop on the Cruz show at Power in L.A. He ripped through a series of classic Tupac beats starting with “I Get Around” and kicked a smooth flow for all of them. I don’t think “Hail Mary” should have been included in the freestyle run, but that doesn’t detract too much from the overall 6 minutes. Watch up above.
I gotta say right off the bat this is one of the best videos I’ve seen this year.
It comes courtesy of Joey Bada$$ with the help of BJ The Chicago Kid and the one and only J Dilla on the production for this standout from B4.Da.$$ — “Like Me”.
The video is a dramatic storyline starting with Joey spotting a couple, befriending the mistreated woman, and then it escalating from there. I’ll leave it at that because you should really watch it for the proper first impression. I will say that I dig the respect shown at the very end and the events just before just flat out drive home the message on another level. I said last week that a video that takes a song to another level is rare nowadays so I’m happy to see that so definitively here.
It’s a big day in hip hop and per usual, the full albums are up on Spotify. Check out Joey Bada$$’ cleverly titled B4.Da.$$ album below.
Features by Action Bronson, Elle Varner, BJ The Chicago Kid, Raury, Kiesza.
