John Legend appeared on The Daily Show yesterday, not to plug any music, but his upcoming HBO documentary he’s executive producing called Southern Rites. The doc spotlights racism and segregation that still goes on today, profiling a killing in Montgomery County, Georgia and the merger of proms… in the 2000s. Here’s a clip and a preview of the doc below with more with Legend and Stewart on The Daily Show’s site here.
Common joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to discuss the Oscars and his performance with John Legend, racism in America, and his new movie ‘Run All Night’ with Liam Neeson, which actually looks pretty badass. A full trailer for that is also below.
UPDATE: “Ron O’Neil” is now in CDQ form here. Plus, official video below.
A historic hip hop moment happened tonight… on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart of all places. All 9 living members of Wu-Tang (counting quasi-member Cappadonna, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Raekwon & RZA — that’s right) reunited for the first time all together. They spoke with the great Stewart and then proceeded to premiere a new record off their upcoming reunion album, A Better Tomorrow, dropping this November called “Ron O’Neil”. They also performed “Triumph”. I’m sure your giddy at this point and surfing these Instagram clips below. Stay tuned for an update of official video when it drops.
