Rick Rubin working on Kanye’s next album

Today, Kanye West is coming in and we’re starting looking at vocal ideas for things for the next album.

Revealed in a preview of Zane Lowe’s upcoming 4-part interview with Rick Rubin (to be released everyday starting Monday, I presume), work on the next album is happening now. Rubin confirmed as much above and I hope to hear more news bytes like this, and even more, stories of working with the legends he has. Zane has a way of uncovering those stories, so I’ll be looking forward to this come Monday. Keep it locked here on GWHH for more.

Kanye West album ‘Made In Florence’ ?

I am composing a whole album, Made in Florence.

So says Kanye West, in a translation from Florence’s La Nazione newspaper in their exclusive interview today. However, it’s not exactly the confirmation. The interwebs are already running away with it as the album title, but ‘Ye could simply be saying he just made the whole album in Florence. Ha! Time will tell…

In questi giorni ha lavorato a un nuovo album?
«Sì, qui nel silenzio della campagna, quando finisco di guardare tessuti, ricami e vestiti che per me sono come sculture, mi ritiro perché sto componendo un album tutto Made in Florence».

The new fact from this interview, though: Kanye confirms that he and Kim Kardashian‘s wedding is May 24th in Florence, believed to be specifically at Forte di Belvedere.

I think that our daughter North was conceived here among the Renaissance masterpieces. It was our first honeymoon. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world—for me the most beautiful in Europe.

Florence — a superb choice for a wedding and likely a superb inspiration for music… no matter the album title.
