As a long fan and appreciator of Naledge as a lyrical emcee from Chicago, (he and Double-0 were our first interview in the Chicago scene actually in 2008) I’m glad to see and hear some new music from him — his first mixtape since early 2014.
Longtime collaborators Omen and Vic Spencer make appearances on the 10-track opus, Naledge is Power. Listen/download below for some
Naledge is back with a new tune. The Chicago emcee shouts out all sides of the city on #NoFUFU, produced by Saint TGB. Look for this off Naledge Is Power — a cleverly titled full-length album coming soon.
Cleveland producer M Stacks drops his latest project “Connected Everywhere II”. The project boasts verses from various Chicago artists as Treated Crew’s Sulaiman, Vic Spencer, Fatboy Fre$sh, Mano, Highlife, GLC, Naledge, Lungz and various others make their presence felt on the project.
ICYMI: M Stacks Interview w/ GWHH
Treated Crew’s Sulaiman is one of the most overlooked emcees and one of the hardest working and disciplined artists in the city. He doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone, his work illustrates his love and passion for Hip-Hop and does it with ease. With that being said we get Suli’s latest offering “The Mogs”, a project that wasn’t promoted and that we didn’t know that was dropping but it is out for the world to enjoy. It is a project that was recorded 2012-2013 and features the likes of Chance The Rapper, Caleb James, GLC, The GTW, Gzus Piece, Highlife, Mic Terror, Naledge, Paypa, Paul Scientific, and Vic Spencer.
Naledge breaks out the Buick for this smooth visual capturing a long ride for the previously released Bun B-featured “63rd & Hayes”. The hometown’s DJ MoonDawg on the intro as well, giving it an authentic feel for the video too. Brain Power 2 drops January 27th.
Naledge pays homage to the hometown in “63rd & Hayes” featuring an assist from DJ MoonDawg on the intro as well as Bun B. It’s mainly Naledge doing the heavy lifting amidst the chopped and screwed hook and overall slow groove to ride to. Expect to see this one on Brain Power 2, the mixtape dropping January 27th.
