Skepta, welcome to the States. (Now have fun north of the border with Drizzy tonight for OVO Fest.)
But seriously, Skepta dropped by the Hot 97 studios and linked up with one of my favorite radio personalities: Peter Rosenberg. They touched on a number of topics including the recent passing of Skepta’s friend. A good listen in the background on this Monday below:
Kendrick Lamar sat down with Peter Rosenberg at this weekend’s Wireless Festival and the two naturally talked some depth about life after the release of To Pimp A Butterfly. Plus, why creating “These Walls” was what Kendrick wanted to do and even some talk on Snoop. Watch and enjoy above.

Peter Rosenberg on the Russillo Show (yesterday’s)
As a fan of SVP & Russillo up until the show’s end a couple of weeks ago, and now Ryen Russillo‘s solo show (aptly titled The Russillo Show), I was pleasantly surprised to fire up the recap podcast with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg co-hosting.
The two talk about the day’s sports topics (as yesterday’s DeAndre Jordan saga was just beginning) but at multiple times the convo steers towards rap. Rosenberg explains the Nicki Minaj story (and how, if you could imagine, it actually helped his career), but even more interesting was his convo on Jay Z & Nas with Russillo, a Jay Z skeptic if you may. This part begins around the 30 minute mark here — click to listen to the full 1 hour show.
Somethin a lil different this morning as this is how I started mine. Catch Rosenberg on The Russillo Show again later today at noon CT (ESPN News, I believe. The podcast up again later in the afternoon.)
Oh yeah! Spotted Rosenberg’s dope photo with Megan Rapinoe and Ali Krieger of our Gold Medal winning USWNT!
Vince Staples & Tyler The Creator made their way to the Hot 97 studios to talk with Peter Rosenberg and no doubt that’s an entertaining combo. Below is their freestyle and Vince chats with Peter. Plus, Tyler chats with Ebro for an hour. If you got the time, run it all in the background below.
June 30th, says Miguel to the Hot97 Morning Show today (below). The album will also be titled, Wildheart.
Miggy also shares talk about the Met Gala, working with Pharrell and DJ Premier for the album, and his longtime relationship with model Nazanin Mandi. Below that, a brief new teaser to the new single “Coffee” featuring Wale. (I like the edited version actually better: “coffee in the morning” has a good ring to it.)
