To close out the season of SNL last night, Rihanna was the finale’s musical guest and performed her 2 current singles off her upcoming album, R8 — “American Oxygen” and “BBHMM”. In case you missed Ri-Ri’s songs and style choices (diggin’ the track suit and long red hair), press play below.
The SNL season finale is set to be an A-list affair as comedian Louis CK is the host and Rihanna, the musical guest. Here’s their quick couple of promos for Saturday’s show wherein Louis CK represents all of the male population at one point in grammar school, right?
What will the fiery red-haired Rihanna perform? BBHMM is a given, but will she premiere an all-new song or go with “American Oxygen”?

The biggest celebrities in the most elaborate formal wear. Here’s quite the gallery featuring KimYe, The Carters, Common, John Legend & Chrissy Teigen, Rihanna, Cassie & Diddy, FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson, Dwyane Wade & Gabrielle Union, Justin Bieber, Solange, and oh yeah J. Lo. Based on the Twitter volume I perused, Beyonce seems to be the big winner and I agree, she definitely killed. Also that Wizard of Oz meme on Rihanna’s dress. So it’s a draw.
Also, lowkey this is perfect.
The Met Gala is one of those events that I don’t really understand that I also refuse to Google to learn more about

Rihanna made waves back in December when she signed on to be a creative director for Puma to “work with Puma to design and customize classic Puma styles as well as create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio.”
Today, above, marks the first ad that Rih appears in for Puma and no doubt she sports their athletic gear in her own unique style. No word on if she designed any of the clothing/shoes (Pulse XT sneakers) but that, and her own Puma collection, is likely still in the works. Stay tuned.
Rihanna sizzles (of course) in her latest fashion spread for V Magazine, donning the cover (and not much else) in the seductive photos above. Her white blonde wig gives Rih yet another unique, striking look too. Finally, Mobil is my favorite gas station so big ups for the product placement!
Adding to the fun is her day-late 4/20 track, “James Joint”, an interlude for R8 she says she’s in love with. Peep the sound and quotes:
“Dude, I’m in love with my interludes. This one called ‘James,’ joint is on constant repeat. [The album is] soulful and aggressive, whether it’s lyrically, musically, or just the tone of my voice.”
“In celebration of 420, here’s an interlude from my 8th studio album that I call James Joint.”
UPDATE: The full video can now be seen on YouTube — the platform that more people can access.
Rihanna “American Oxygen” [Music Video]
04.06.15: Rihanna’s new single “American Oxygen” was debuted at this year’s March Madness Live Festival on Saturday for the Final 4 in Indianapolis.
Now, the official video can be seen below (and on TIDAL if you would like to subscribe…) and there is some more substance than you may have expected. Grainy clips of America’s past (and present) are scattered throughout Rihanna’s performance scenes and drives her lyrics home even more. I thought Rihanna did a great job with her vocal delivery as well so I’m in on this song (way more than BBHMM too.)
Rihanna was in Indianapolis tonight to perform her March Madness theme song and new album jam “American Oxygen” for the first time live. It’s the first time we could hear the new version so check out the rip below. Catchy and patriotic so it’s hard not to dislike this ya know?
