LIB has developed into one of the most hyped spiritual festivals in California featuring amazing musicians, visual artists, luminaries, healers, performers, teachers, and activists. This year they’ve got FlumeSBTRKTODESZA, and RL Grime headlining the 5-day camping festival over Memorial Day Weekend (May 21 – 25, 2015) in Bradley, CA.

Touted as being equal parts visually and aurally stunning, Do LaB has developed LIB into a key outlet for showcasing its mesmerizing stage designs, one-of-a-kind art installations and cutting-edge curatorial capabilities – all of which make LIB one of the most innovative festivals on the planet. In addition, LIB has earned recognition for being “the most environmentally conscious festival in America,” according to a press release distributed by Do LaB.

LIB has come to be known not only as a music festival, but as an assembly of immersive environments that appeal to all of the senses. The festival is divided into several festival sanctuaries, where attendees can engage with and explore yoga and dance classes, motivational speakers, and health-conscious workshops. Individuals and families are welcome to attend and take part in the event. (h/t)

Raury talks encounters with SBTRKT & Kanye

In a new sit-down with MTV, Raury talks about his first big-name collab on the way with SBTRKT and how this was his first lengthy sit-down with an artist who’s out here like that. After getting to know each other more, Raury revealed they worked on some new music and he’ll have a couple of tracks on the upcoming SBTRKT project.

Additionally, Raury turned heads earlier this summer with a big co-sign from Kanye West. It came in the form of a simple photo, that Kanye liked “God’s Whisper”, and that they played each other music. Raury elaborates a little more in the video/transcript below:

[Kanye and SBTRKT] were equally humble people. Kanye was very cool, man. We had breakfast, we talked for a nice little minute and then we played each other each others’ tracks. I played him stuff from the album before the release, and he went nuts and played me his stuff. I was like, “Oh my god”… I always feel like I have to keep up with people like that. He’s got some really good stuff coming, that’s all I can say, but yeah he’s real cool.

Monday Roundup

You may have noticed the site has been stagnant for the last couple of days. We were in the midst of some site updates and couldn’t update you on the latest and greatest during the start of this second week of September. Never fear, here’s your rundown of just Monday’s new content below (Tuesday is linked below too.)

RADIO

My favorite segment of the 3 — Gambino rocks a smooth freestyle over HS87’s buzzing summer single and confirms that Chance collab EP in the process. Jhene Aiko talks about Gambino himself amongst other topics including her debut album, Souled Out, (out now!). And finally, Raury does something different after a nearly 20 minute sit down with Hot 97 — an acoustic cover of Kanye’s “Blood on the Leaves”, in which he also adds a new verse of his own. Fresh. And it would only sound better in the studio, methinks.
