Straight Outta Compton isn’t even outta theatres yet, but the sequel is already filming.
It’ll be titled DPG 4 Life and center around Death Row Records. Like for Cube in Compton, Dr. Dre’s son will play his father. The Death Row vet Daz Dillinger put this up on the ‘gram with the cast filming Tupac’s recording of “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” within a 24-hour period. Wow, I want to see this.
DPG 4 Life Cast:
- Azad Arnaud as Daz Dillinger
- Reggie Noble as Suge Knight
- Melvin Jackson Jr. as Kurupt
- DaDa as Tupac
- Curtis Young (Dr. Dre’s son) as Dr. Dre
No surprise here, the people want more! (As evidenced by some impressive, record-setting opening week numbers.)
Daz Dillinger was quick to confirm to TMZ that a sequel to Straight Outta Compton is already in the works. The subjects at hand: 2Pac, Snoop, Dre, Suge Knight, and Death Row Records.
Daz adds that none of the Straight Outta Compton actors would reprise their roles (Dre would likely be played by his son, Curtis Young) and that Ice Cube gave the project his blessing, though he won’t be on as a producer either.
So I guess it’s really just another movie about the golden era of hip hop. The subjects: just as, if not more fascinating. So hopefully this comes to fruition. (And hopefully the actor who cameoed as 2Pac can actually act too. He got the looks down, for sure.)
Alarming news out of L.A. where a pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown at 1OAK ended abruptly when club-goers heard 4 shots — 3 people were hit, 1 of whom was Suge Knight.
One is in critical condition; Suge, however, was able to walk on his own, but then went into an ambulance. Video above, and TMZ with more details. Wow. Looks like he’ll be OK though.
Says Suge Knight to TMZ:
You know he’s somewhere smoking a Cuban cigar.
Suge also says he would “murder P. Diddy’s bitch ass”. I think the only thing that’s missing from the video is Borat in the background yelling “NOT!”. Take it for what it is, folks.
