Meek Mill on The Breakfast Club

Meek Mill, after officially earning the country’s #1 album this week at “246,000 total with streams according to Soundscan (215,000 without streams)” (via Miss Info), continues his press run with an interesting sit-down with The Breakfast Club above. Amongst the topics you would expect, he also talks about the new drama with Joe Budden after he commented on his relationship with Nicki Minaj.

Plus, ICYMI, here’s more bars from Meek with a long freestyle over Future’s “Commas”.

Kanye on The Breakfast Club

Kanye on The Breakfast Club… need I say more?

I mean, just tune in for the tension between Kanye and Charlamagne Tha God, right?! But it definitely was lighter right off the bat and a calmer Yeezy was jovial, and sometimes just straight up joking on a host of light-hearted topics (there’s a memorable couple quotes on Amber Rose and Tyga/Kylie for example.) ‘Ye of course talked about the art as well like new music, his new adidas fashion line, and Beck and the Grammys (he admits he was being hypocritical.)

And oh yeah, Kanye also confirms a black colorway of the Yeezy Boosts (while separately, adidas announces the Yeezy Boost will hit online tomorrow. UPDATE: The image below.)

Back to the interview, Kanye also hints on some new music: a track with Young Thug, how “Wolves” came about from a conversation of a collab album with Drake (what!), and that the album is 80% done. One innovate idea he mentioned in regards to the new releases — a video game 6 months in the making for “Only One”. Very interesting.

All this and more up above so press play, sit back and enjoy the most extensive new Kanye interview this year.

And while you’re at it, click to see a new, inspiring Twitter rant from ‘Ye (hope there’s more of these to come too.)

Mary J. Blige “Whole Damn Year”

For the first single to The London Sessions, MJB went for a new, modern sound with the help of Disclosure on “Right Now”. I was a fan of that effort and appreciate it even more as MJB slows it down for “Whole Damn Year”. This should speak to her longtime fans with the soft piano and drum kicks lacing the production and MJB spilling out her heart with some storytelling substance. Lend your ears below before the album drops December 2nd.

As a bonus, here’s a new interview talking all things music and life between MJB and The Breakfast Club.

Monday Roundup

You may have noticed the site has been stagnant for the last couple of days. We were in the midst of some site updates and couldn’t update you on the latest and greatest during the start of this second week of September. Never fear, here’s your rundown of just Monday’s new content below (Tuesday is linked below too.)

RADIO

My favorite segment of the 3 — Gambino rocks a smooth freestyle over HS87’s buzzing summer single and confirms that Chance collab EP in the process. Jhene Aiko talks about Gambino himself amongst other topics including her debut album, Souled Out, (out now!). And finally, Raury does something different after a nearly 20 minute sit down with Hot 97 — an acoustic cover of Kanye’s “Blood on the Leaves”, in which he also adds a new verse of his own. Fresh. And it would only sound better in the studio, methinks.
