YP ‘Backwood Jones’ [Mixtape]

My anticipation for this release was at an all time high several minutes ago. Now I’m several songs in and I don’t have one negative thing to say about YP‘s new collection, ‘Backwood Jones.’ It’s pretty much everything I was hoping for since YP played a few songs off the project for me at the beginning of July. There’s a little bit of everything on here for everybody. Songs to spark to, jam to, pound to. Songs to Spark, jam, and pound to all at once. Really, you can’t go wrong with giving this the stream or the download. YP is one of the most talented artists Chicago has and his work shows that.

YP f/ Twista “Stop”

With the anticipation rising for the release of YP‘s next project, ‘Backwood Jones‘, the young problematic MC delivers a new video for a recent audio release featuring Twista, entitled, “Stop.” This visual comes to us on the heels of YP’s ‘Backwood Jones‘ debut, which is set to be revealed some time tomorrow. Any of you who wish to acquire the audio up above and other hard hitting jams should keep checking in throughout the day tomorrow.

YP f/ Twista “Stop”

Chi-City connect as YP grabs Twista for their first-ever collab called “Stop”. To set the tone for it, YP ups his speed to match Twista’s — stepping outside of his comfort zone with the majority of his songs featuring a slower, more deliberate delivery. But hey, when you got the Guiness record-setting legend on the track! Twista doesn’t disappoint with his flow and spits an equally long verse; however, if I’m handing out a crown for lyricism, I gotta go with YP on this one. After getting used to his delivery in the first set of bars, YP dropped a flawless Muggsy Bogues punchline and it was a wrap. Enjoy below with a new mixtape and music video on the way next, on top of the launch of YP’s new site: backwoodjones.com.
